Bold painterly tulips blooming their way around abstract brush strokes. The warmth of an encounter, yellow the colour of friendship. Yellow tulips stand for cheerful thoughts and hope. This series is inspired by a chat over coffee sat in a small local Edinburgh park surrounded by blooming trees and tulips. Whilst talking about pandemic strangeness, personal worries, fears, and just plain randomness our eyes kept wandering to the flowering nature around us. The series aims to capture the thought processes, emotions and impressions of natural and general beauty the encounter left me with. The pieces work very well sat next to each other, connected by the organic brushstrokes.
